Changing to a low-carb diet does not mean you have to give up your preferred foods. Nutritionist and home cook Sadie Ross offers advice on how to keep a balanced diet while still savoring the tastes of daily living.
Sadie adds, “I’ve always thought that food should be pleasing and nouraging.” Her method emphasizes basic changes and creative ideas for meals that allow low-carb diet to be sustained.
Pay special attention to fresh ingredients
“A low-carb life isn’t about deprivation,” Sadie says. She advises loading your plate with low-fat, high-quality proteins, fresh veggies and good fats. Among her go-to basics are cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles, and almond flour for baking.
Conscious Eating
For Sadie, planning is really essential. She advises stocking on hand hard-boiled eggs, mixed nuts, or cheese cubes. “Being ready helps you avoid those tempting carb-heavy choices,” she advises.
Meet Your Sweet Tooth
“You can still lead a life including desserts,” Sadie says. She enjoys creating low-carb delicacies including almond flour cookies flavored with stevia or chocolate avocado mousse. “You are not compromising taste here.”
According to Sadie, you can lead a low-carb life without feeling limited with some imagination.
