Eva Wright never supported very strict diets. Rather, she adopted the Mediterranean way of life to drop weight and felt fulfilled and energized.
“It’s about eating smarter, not about cutting out food,” she says smiling.
Whole grains, fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and good fats such olive oil abound in the Mediterranean diet. Greek yogurt topped with fresh fruit and nuts makes perfect breakfast for Eva. “It fills me completely and provides morning energy,” she says.
She chooses a substantial salad with arugula, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken, all drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice for lunch.
Dinner might be grilled fish accompanied by roasted zucchini on one side and a little quinoa. “The harmony of nutrients and tastes keeps cravings at distance,” Eva says.
Her main advice is on moderation of portions. “I serve smaller plates; it fools your brain into believing you are consuming more,” she says. Eva also gives drinking top importance. “Sometimes hunger is just thirst in disguise,” she notes.
Eva not only dropped weight but also became generally healthier by using Mediterranean ideas. She points out, “It’s a lifestyle, not a diet.”
