If you are seeking a new way to stay active while relaxing, paddleboarding could be the perfect fit for you.
The unconventional sport of paddleboarding has transformed Mackenzie’s journey to health, and she discusses her passion for it in this interview.
The importance of exercise is secondary, according to Mackenzie. “The serenity I felt while floating on the lake was a gift I did not expect.”
Why would one want to paddleboard?
Mackenzie gets the benefits of serenity and exercise from paddleboarding. Since maintaining balance on the board requires strength in the core, this exercise engages the entire body. “It is a lot more enjoyable than going to the gym,” she remarks. Plus, it is much better because you are outdoors!
Starting Again
For paddling to be fun, you need to be able to move with ease. To find out if surfing is right for you, Mackenzie suggests renting a board and practicing in flat water, like a lake. She reassures me that it is normal to be nervous about falling at first.
You may try paddleboard yoga for an added challenge once you are comfortable, and there are plenty of rivers to explore.
Development of Confidence and Strength
Each time Mackenzie goes for a paddle, she feels stronger. “It is powerful,” she says sharply. “It is quite incredible to be able to propel yourself across the ocean.” Paddleboarding has helped her become more physically fit, more stable, and even more mentally clear.
So, what is stopping you from giving it a go on your own? “All it takes is one paddle,” Mackenzie says.
