1. Prioritize Whole Foods

Focusing on whole, unprocessed meals is Sophia’s first guideline. She counsels to load your plate with nutritious carbohydrates, lean proteins, and vibrant vegetables. “You’ll feel more satisfied and less prone to overdo it on sweets when you eat nutrient-dense foods.” A festive and healthful side dish is roasted Brussels sprouts topped with sea salt and olive oil drizzles.

2. Practice Portion Control

Though Sophia has a trick to handle them, holiday banquets can be taxing. She advises starting with just a bit of everything you wish on a tiny dish. “You will appreciate the tastes without taxing your system.” Eating smaller amounts helps you to indulge deliberately.

3. Make Healthy Swaps

“You can change traditional holiday recipes even if they often feature sugar and bad fats,” Sophia says. In your baked products, replace white flour with almond or oat flour and substitute natural sweeteners like honey or dates for refined sugar. Made with rolled oats and a little maple syrup, a spiced apple crisp is among her favorite treats.

4. Stay Hydrated

With the seasonal hustle and bustle, one can easily overlook drinking water. Sophia cautions, “Dehydration can mimic hunger.” To keep rejuvenated, she advises drinking herbal teas or infused water with slices of lemon and mint.

5. Don’t Skip Meals

Sophia counsels against many individuals skipping meals to “make room” for holiday feasts. “You’re more likely to oveeat later if you skip meals,” she notes. Eat well instead throughout the day to have consistent energy levels and prevent overindulging.
