Luna Starr’s Guide to Sustainability in Clean Eating

Environmentalist and chef Luna Starr says that sustainable living and clean eating go hand in hand. “What’s good for your body should also be good for the planet,” she notes.

Luna’s goal is to motivate others to, without feeling overburdened, embrace sustainable habits in their regular meals.

Luna advises first to buy locally. “Visits your farmer’s market,” she exhorts “You not only help nearby farmers but also help to lower the carbon footprint of your meals.” She also notes that seasonal food usually tastes better, is more reasonably priced, and is fresher.

Luna also commits allegiance to eliminating food waste. She advises ahead of time meal planning and imaginative use of leftovers. “Make a great frittata or toss out the roasted vegetables from last night into a salad,” she advises. Get creative; waste less, eat more deliberately.

Luna also supports meals with plants forward approach. She assures me not you have to go totally vegetarian. “But even a few times a week, changing meat for plant-based proteins can significantly help the environment.” Her first choice is personally. Curry made with chicken and spinach.

Regarding packaging, Luna advised carrying your own reusable containers and bags. “One of the easiest things you can do to help is avoid single-use plastics,” she says.

Luna underlines at last the value of mindfulness. She counsels paying close attention to the source of your food and the methods of production. “Making wise decisions helps you to contribute to a better you and a planet.”

Eat clean, think green, and enjoy the process— Luna’s guidance is basic yet powerful. “Sustainability doesn’t mean sacrifice,” she replies smilingly. “It means choosing foods that feed the Earth as well as yourself.”
