Kaelyn Frost struggled with her health not always. Years of skin flare-ups and joint pain resulted in a whirl of doctor visits and temporary relief.
None of it, though, felt sustainable until she came upon the theory of eating to lower inflammation. Bloom Nutrition Superfood Greens Powder, Digestive Enzymes with Probiotics and Prebiotics, Gut Health
“I was first dubious,” Kaelyn notes. “It sounded too straightforward.” Still, there was something that connected. She started looking at foods that helped the body heal naturally: leafy greens, fatty acids, turmeric, berries, and legumes high in fibre.
Still, her commitment to meal prep proved to be the true innovation. “That’s when things started turning around permanently,” she remarks. She would spend a few hours on Sundays cooking basics—grain bases, roasted vegetables, and sauces produced from whole-food ingredients.
Meal prep gave her control among the daily turmoil of the job. Not more hurried fast food or skipped meals. Rather, she ate ready-to-go meals that complemented her health objectives and made her feel good afterwards.
She was most surprised by how simple it got once she discovered her rhythm. It had nothing to do with perfection. It was about showing up for me, she muses. Her inflammation started to fade and her energy came back, evidence that food could really be medication.
Meal preparation no longer seems to Kaelyn as a chore. She beams, “It’s a gift I give myself.” “A slow act of healing beginning in the kitchen.”
