Sky Wren didn’t grow up in a health-conscious household. Dinners were often microwaved or picked up from the drive-thru. “It wasn’t until I had my own family that I realized how much our food shaped everything—our energy, our mood, even our connection,” she says.
So, she made a change—but she knew it had to be sustainable.
Instead of rigid rules or fad diets, Sky created a clean eating calendar that fit her busy family’s lifestyle. “I needed structure, but also flexibility,” she explains. “I wanted meals to feel nourishing, not stressful.”
Her system was simple: plan meals by category rather than ingredients. Mondays were “comfort bowls,” Tuesdays featured something globally inspired, Wednesdays became “breakfast-for-dinner,” and so on. “It gave us rhythm without monotony,” she says.
By involving her kids in meal planning—letting them vote on meals or pick one ingredient to include—she turned it into a weekly ritual. Her partner, initially skeptical, now looks forward to their Friday veggie stir-fry nights. “It became less about eating clean and more about eating together,” she smiles.
Sky emphasizes that her calendar isn’t about being perfect—it’s about building habits that support family health while making life easier. “Planning meals isn’t about control,” she says. “It’s about creating space—for nourishment, for time together, for joy.”
