Brisa York’s Smart Clean Eating on a Tight Schedule

For Brisa York, eating clean was a need rather than only a health objective. She ran against a wall after several years of pushing through long hours driven by vending machine snacks and drive-through meals.

“My skin was breaking out, my body was always tired, and my attention at work was all over the place,” she explains. “I didn’t know where to find the time, but I knew I needed better food.”

Brisa lacked the luxury of extended lunch breaks or fancy meals as she was a busy marketing manager. She did have drive and a need to feel well without sacrificing her profession. She laughs, “I couldn’t become a full-time home chef, but I could make better choices that fit into real life.”

Her approach started with considering what “clean eating” really meant. She emphasised simplicity rather than rigorous guidelines or costly components. Meals created with authentic, complete foods, without added sweets or chemicals, enough variation to keep her engaged. She how to batch cook, roasting vegetables, preparing cereals, and portioning proteins on Sunday afternoon. More usually, though, it was about making sensible decisions right now.

Brisa developed in her ability to recognise the superior choice among a sea of convenience. “It could be a grain bowl over fast food or a protein smoothie instead of a sugary coffee,” she says. “Clean eating means conscious, even if life is messy; it does not mean made-from- scratch every time.”

She has discovered one thing, among others. Though flexibility is the hidden weapon, planning is really essential. On certain days, she gets a store-bought salad or a meal kit on her way home—and that’s alright. Her diet is based on firm principles, hence the rare curveball doesn’t throw her off.

Brides now feel more energised, more focused, and shockingly more in charge of their time. “Eating better actually allowed me more time in my day,” she notes. “I stop crashing around three p.m. now. For business, and for myself, I am more focused, calm, and consistent.

For her, clean food does not fit a polished Instagram existence. Without compromising all else she values, this sensible, forgiving, and clever approach helps her take care of her body.
