Sky Voss used to joke that her kids had a better diet than she did. As a mom of three, her days were packed from morning till night—school drop-offs, work calls, snack duty, laundry, bedtime stories. “I’d make their lunches with fresh veggies and fruit,” she says. “Then eat cereal over the sink at 2 p.m.”

Her day starts with a smoothie she can drink while packing lunches. It’s not complicated—frozen berries, spinach, oats, almond milk, and a spoonful of peanut butter. “It’s quick, it’s filling, and I don’t have to think about it,” she says.
For lunch, she usually throws together leftovers or a wrap with hummus, greens, and whatever protein she has on hand. She keeps washed veggies and hard-boiled eggs in the fridge, so there’s always something ready.
Dinner is where she brings the family in. They might roast vegetables together or build tacos with healthy fillings. Sky says the goal isn’t perfection—just real food, made with love.
What changed everything was shifting her mindset. “I stopped trying to be the perfect clean eater,” she says. “Now I’m just a mom who fuels her body with what feels good.”
Sky believes clean eating doesn’t require a full-time schedule or a private chef. It just takes a bit of planning, a lot of grace, and a willingness to make your version of healthy work.
“Some days, it’s all smoothies and salads,” she laughs. “Other days, it’s clean-ish. And that’s enough.”
